UNIVERSAL COSTA CARIBE UNIVERSAL MAKING WAVES

Perhaps it's the opening of Walt Disney Studios right next to Disneyland Paris that has inspired Universal. In any case, the inauguration of Costa Caribe set for this summer seems to follow the same logic: increase the attraction of an already existing site by opening a new one and thus creating a larger complex.
And so Costa Caribe will find itself right next to Port Aventura, one of the largest parks in southern Europe. The two parks will constitute Universal Mediterranea (in addition, two 500 room hotels will open at the same time). Costa Caribe-"Caribbean Coast", in English-is an aquatic park that will be open to the public from June to the end of December (it includes an indoor section).

CARIBBEAN ATMOSPHERE

UNIVERSAL COSTA CARIBE As suggested by the title, the Caribbean is the main theme: it's atmosphere, its idyllic landscapes, and its beautiful beaches. The park stretches over some 3.5 hectares, 4230 m2 of which is beach and 4760 m2 aquatic attractions. There are eight main attractions in total.
El Gran Caribe is a large building, supported by a 250,000 kilo metallic structure, furnished with a mobile bay window to keep the cold away during the winter. Inside: no less than 25,000 m3 of water, three Jacuzzis, four waterslides, a games area and a restaurant. The rest of the park is in the open air.
The Bermuda Triangle is a wave pool divided into two areas based on the intensity of the waves. The Mambo, Limbo, Barracudas and El Tifon are giant crisscrossing waterslides that that offer a good dose of excitement. As a respite from these sensations, Bahama Beach offers its stretch of sandy, landscaped beach. El Rio Loco is a slide that one travels on big rafts and El Torrente is more of a family rafting affair. As for the Woody Lagoon, it's an area of aquatic games (waves, slides, and "geysers") reserved for kids.
