SIX FLAGS HOLLAND
THE NETHERLANDS

GOLIATH EVEN DAVID WOULD BE AFRAID OF THIS GOLIATH
Were it not that they belong to the same consortium, one would think Six Flags Belgium and Six Flags Holland were in competition for the honorary title of "European Roller Coaster Capital". In any case, neither park has any qualms about claiming the title as its own. Be that as it may, the Dutch park does seem to have stolen a lead over its Belgian "friendly competitor" with its most recent acquisition Goliath. This roller coaster, the 7th at the Dutch park, cannot help but remind us of another new attraction this season, Europa-Park's Silver Star in Germany (
see related article).
Like its German cousin, Goliath immediately lets you know what to expect: a 30° climb gives you a couple of seconds to regret having decided to tackle this monster...and at the top of this incline you realise that the 45 meter fall that awaits you is almost perpendicular: 70°! The 32-passenger roller coaster (8 4-seater cars) reaches its highest speed of 106 km/h at the end of this descent into hell (paradise for adrenaline junkies). The rest of the thrills are created by a mix of high speeds and a path that is, to say the least, moving: 4 crazy curves close to the ground, a spiral, 7 humps that give you a taste for airtime. In total, 170 seconds of fun.
