NIGLOLAND
FRANCE, CHAMPAGNE-ARDENNE

NIGLOLAND I'VE ALWAYS DREAMED OF HAVING MY LEGS UP IN THE AIR

The good old roller coaster ride, ever the main attraction for avid thrill-seekers, has seen many innovations intended to increase the sensations of the passengers. They have put us in the dark, submitted us to forces of up to 4 G, at speeds of up to 100 km/h. And today they are going to go as far as have us suspended in the air. Up until now, suspended roller coaster could only be experienced outside French borders...But thanks to Nigloland, it is now possible to do so in France. And that is precisely what we have done for you.
Bat Coaster-that's its name-is a metallic yellow structure that rises proudly in the sky at Nigloland. As you get on the ride it is immediately obvious that something is different: instead of getting into a car you are asked to sit on to a seat equiped with a security bar and your legs are left to hang in the air. In other words, the rails of the roller coaster are above your head and you are well and truly "suspended".
Therein lies the originality of this ride created by the Italian constructeur Pinfari. It is otherwise a rather traditional ride for a roller coater. It is the atypical position of your legs that makes all the difference: the sensations are truly novel. Of the 400 meters of rail, traveled at 70 km/h our preference goes to the first part of the journey. Seated in twos you are taken in your suspended seats to the summit of the Bat Coaster, allowing you a superb view not only of the park but of the surrounding country. It is the calm just before the storm.

IMPRESSIVE BUT SMOOTH

NIGLOLAND Having gotten to the top of the ride, you suddenly hurtle down an abrupt bend, and carried by the momentum, do two spiral loopings. As in all loopings, your head is upside down, but in this case your legs are also up in the air!
The rest of the ride consists mainly of corners, some more tight or more banked than others...but that are experienced in a novel way because you do not see the railings. Indeed at each loop your reflex is to tuck your legs in for fear that they don't get in some structure.
A word to the wise: the sensations are different depending on whether you are at the front or the back of the ride...which means you should experience the ride at least twice for you to get the total experience.
And although this ride gets the adrenaline pumping, it is nonetheless widely accessible; despite the thrills, the ride remains very smooth.
That's why all those above 140cm are encouraged to try the Bat Coaster as soon as possible.
